Prof. Jean-Marie Exbrayat
Biography
Jean-Marie Exbrayat works as a Professor at Lyon Catholic University. He is Deputy Head of Research, and the Head of a Research Unit. He is also Professor at Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (France). He currently teaches animal biology, histology, embryology, history and philosophy of sciences. He was working as a supervisor of 28 PhD theses. He is the author or editor of 14 books and numerous publications and communications. He is a reviewer or an editorial board member for several international publications and member of Scientific Committee of several international conferences.
Research Interest
Study of reproductive cycles (male and female genital tracts, endocrine organs) in vertebrates (bony fishes, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals) related to external conditions: wet tropical areas, Mediterranean area, temperate area, arid and semi-arid area, aquatic environment, pollution. Embryonic development of rare animals (gymnophionan amphibians or caecilians). Histological application to the study of animal biology History and philosophy of life sciences.
