The bacterial infection of the blood of the neonate is known as neonatal sepsis.Neonatal sepsis is specifically infection occurring during the first month of life. It may lead to serious complications in future if not treated in early stages. The infection may be due to contact of the new born with bacteria during gestation, birth or the early environments after birth. The Early onset sepsis may be due to infection from the mother while the Late onset sepsis is due to exposure to environment.
