The authors developed a new analytical method to fractionate and quantify two metal forms such as the protein binding metal and the labile metal and it has several advantages compared with the existing methods on the analysis of intracellular metal. This manuscript also demonstrated the methods of analysis of the metal concentration in the various cell extracts. The manuscript is well organized and written, and conclusions drawn are supported by the experimental results by Real-time PCR analysis, immunocytochemistry and HPLC-ICP-MS.
