Abstract

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patients significantly benefit from Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) modulator therapies that have dramatically changed the course of this disease. However, hypersensitivity reactions, such as severe skin rashes, can threaten treatment continuity. Rapid desensitization protocols provide a promising approach to safely reintroduce these critical medications, always assessing the individuality of each case. By minimizing delays and interruptions with traditional, slower desensitization methods, these protocols optimize patient outcomes and quality of life, reinforcing their role as a valuable strategy in the management of CF patients who face allergic reactions to indispensable therapies.
