The article provides update knowledge regarding the various advancements in the field of medicine in finding a cure for peptic ulcers. The authors clearly described the inefficiency of conventionally used antacids and histamine inhibitors. The authors also reviewed the proton pump approach as a solution to the problems associated with peptic ulcers. Even though proton pumps are effective but the formulation of standardized drugs based on them for widespread applications is still in its nascent stage.
